About This Role
Vision Electronics is hiring a Senior Accountant in Iraq to maintain accurate accounts and prepare timely financial reports. The role covers the general ledger, reconciliations, month-end closing, and coordination with colleagues on payments and supporting documents.
Responsibilities
- Review accounting entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Reconcile bank accounts, supplier balances, and customer accounts.
- Prepare month-end closing schedules and financial reports.
- Review invoices, expenses, and payment records for accuracy.
- Monitor receivables and payables and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Reconcile inventory and cost records with the operations team.
- Prepare supporting schedules for audits and applicable tax filings.
- Maintain organised records and strengthen internal accounting controls.
Requirements
- A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Experience handling general ledger accounting and month-end closing.
- Strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of financial reporting and internal controls.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting or ERP software.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax requirements applicable in Iraq.
- Ability to manage deadlines and communicate clearly with colleagues and auditors.
- Experience in a trading or distribution business is an advantage.
